CHICK BRICK is a San Francisco-based biomaterials brand that tackles environmental pollution from fried food waste. It transforms discarded fried chicken bones from California into sustainable biocement for everyday use. After research and material testing, the final composition combines chicken bone powder, corn starch, and calcium carbonate, resulting in a cement-like material with improved weather resistance. CHICK BRICK offers three structural shapes—T, L, and Z—which, when stacked in specific patterns, strengthen the overall structure.

This project is an artistic experiment in transforming printed materials. Inspired by origami, Wenji designed a narrative-driven paper model of an armored cash truck. The process involved converting a 3D object into a 2D printed image, then re-shaping it into a new 3D form through folding and assembly.

This project is a graphic poetry experiment created in collaboration with film director Zihan Wang. To align with the atmosphere and metaphors of his conceptual short film, Wenji restructured the typography of the poem by referencing the form of the human torso, and integrated it into the film.

DADA was a landmark movement that profoundly influenced the development of modern art. This project establishes an online museum that reunites DADA works dispersed across various institutions. Using web performance as the primary medium, it captures user interactions as data logs. By embracing unconventional interaction methods, the project explores new potentials in coding-driven experiences.

This project is a pure visual experiment exploring imagery through material studies of furniture pads. Wenji created a time-lapse video featuring the pads as the main subject frozen in ice, and later transformed the captured visuals into a printed square booklet for viewing.

This project imagines a fictional whale language translation AI, inspired by existing Pacific whale research data. Wenji designed a corresponding AI detector and a whale music album, and envisioned new possibilities for human-whale interaction.

This project uses Google Sheets to create a manual teaching monkeys how to use a straw. The grid structure of Google Sheets mimics retro pixel game aesthetics. The manual combines images to show the straw usage process, produced both physically with spiral binding and digitally as a webpage.
